Technical Outlook (11th September 2009)

As mentioned yesterday "  Nifty, although is overbought in hourly charts has found support around 4785, breakout from where can take Nifty down to 4755 & 4715 in 1-2 sessions. On the other hand, close above 4840 will make Nifty resume its upward journey towards 4975+ which may be achieved in a week or so. " Nifty opened with a positive gap of nearly 55-60 points since most of the Asian markets were trading in a positive zone being up by 1.5-2%. After touching 4886, Nifty could not sustain the higher levels & also the opening gap put pressure on Nifty due to which it declined sharply during mid session to touch an intra day low of 4818 & again bounced back to touch 4862 before giving up finally to close at 4819, about 5 points above the previous close.

As far as, extreme short term charts are concerned, Nifty has covered the opening gap but it is yet to cover the bearish targets of Nifty future i.e. 4755 given yesterday. However, as far as short term charts are concerned Nifty is well above the support level of 4750 which had set the targets of 4975-5000 which may be achieved in coming days & also the target of 5500 which is likely to be achieved in coming months.

As for as bar reversal in Daily charts are concerned, stocks like Jindal Steel & power, Renuka Sugar, HPCL, Neyvelli, Everonn, BRFL, Ruchi Soya, Chennai Petro, Raj TV, DS Kulkarni, Lotus Eye Care have given "Upward Bar Reversal" while Nifty Jr., Reliance Ind, HDIL, Unitech, Rel Capital, SBI, JP Associates, Hindalco, Axis Bank, REL Infra and HDFC etc. have given "Downward Bar Reversal". Stocks like IFB, GMR Infra, Raj TV, House of Pearls, Ratnamani, Guj Gas, Jayant Agro., Ashapura, Torrent Power, Lumax, Dhanlakshmi Bank have shown  spurt during the day with unusually high volumes.

In nutshell, Nifty has taken corrective decline after touching the minor resistance of 4885 & it has come to the support level of 4800. As long as it closes above 4750 on weekend i.e 11th September. The bullish targets of 4975-5000 (short term) & 5500 (medium term) are maintained. There are several indicators which are in favor of corrective decline to 4755 & 4715 in EST. However if market bounces back after touching these levels, the bullish targets will remain intact. The best strategy should be to concentrate on select mid & small cap stocks which have given breakout in hourly charts for short term gains in near future.
